About Mrs. Deathe
Hello! Thank you for visiting my classroom website. On the site, you will find information about my experiences with teaching, coaching, and of course, 6th grade classroom content. Before delving into the professional material, I'll tell you a little about myself!
I have always had a passion for traveling and it's most likely because I moved so much during my childhood. I've lived in Minnesota, Colorado, Missouri, and Kansas. I now claim Kansas as my "home" and plan to be here awhile. I graduated from Eudora High School and must' have loved the area so much I couldn't leave! I attended the University of Kansas, getting a degree in Social Studies Education, and am now forever a part of Jayhawk Nation. For two years after college, I worked for a college-prep program called the KU Upward Bound Math and Science Center where I was an Academic Advisor serving students in the Kansas City, Kansas school district. As much as I loved the job, I missed the daily interaction with students.
Now, I am on a new adventure as a 6th grade social studies teacher and 7th grade volleyball coach. In my 3rd year of teaching, I've learned how fun and exciting each day really is.
My life truly changed when I became a mom in May 2014. Our beautiful son, Porter, brings so much joy and happiness to our lives each day. Since then, we've expanded our family to four with the addition of Sawyer in January 2016. Now my days outside of school are spent with these amazing little boys!
